Saud Shakeel (L) and Agha Salman (R) during first Test against Sri Lanka - SLC

Pakistan's former chief selector Mohammad Wasim, who was often called 'laptop chief selector' during his tenure, reacted to the amazing match-saving partnership between Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman in first Test of two-match series against Sri Lanka.

Saud and Agha, who were both selected in Pakistan's squad by Wasim in 2021, scored 177 runs together to save Pakistan from further collapse in the first innings.

While reacting to their performance, Wasim shared a picture on Twitter showing Saud and Agha on a laptop screen.

In another post, Wasim shared a picture with Saud from his early playing days from Pakistan Television (PTV) team. Wasim was the coach of PTV team in grade-II

In November 2021, Saud got his Test call back but didn't get a chance to play. In 2022 against England in Rawalpindi, Saud got to play his first game in whites. Since then, he didn't look back and remained so consistent, having scored consecutive 50+ scores so far.

On the other hand, Agha was named in the Test squad against Sri Lanka last year where he made his debut.

Day 3 of first Test

Pakistan edged ahead of Sri Lanka on the third day of the ongoing first Test in Galle on Tuesday after a fantastic double hundred by Saud Shakeel.

At stumps, Sri Lanka were 14-0 and trailed by 135 runs.

The visitors were dismissed for 461, taking a lead of 149 runs, with middle-order batter Saud Shakeel scoring a superb unbeaten double-century.

Shakeel stunned the audience with his excellent batting, scoring 208 runs with the help of 19 fours.

The left-hander found able support in Naseem Shah, who stood firm with six run in 78 balls, on the third day as the duo added crucial 94 runs for the ninth wicket.

Pakistan lost two wickets, Nauman Ali (25) and Shaheen Afridi (9) during the second session but kept the scoreboard ticking which helped stretch their lead in the first innings.

Ramesh Mendis bagged a five-wicket haul for Sri Lanka, meanwhile, Prabath Jayasuriya claimed three wickets.
